Under the supervision of the VP of Finance, the Staff Accountant is responsible for the monthly, quarterly and year-end close processes; preparing royalty statements, handling international billing and processing receivables.
Job functions and responsibilities
- Prepare royalty statements and royalty client lists for talent.
- Process online ACH payments using electronic banking system.
- Be responsible for all aspects of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
- Provide weekly and monthly financial reports.
- Bank and credit card statement reconciliation.
- Credit card process management.
- Help to create new and more efficient internal processes.
- Process and handle 1099’s, W-9’s and other tax-related forms.
- Assist with the reviewing of annual financial statements.
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements.
- Handle immediate requests from clients regarding various financial concerns.
- Take on projects and pick up additional responsibilities when the need arises.
Qualifications for our ideal candidate
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance strongly preferred.
- Some form of accounting/financial work experience or a demonstrated passion for accounting or corporate finance.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Excellent customer service skills, self-motivated, self-starter, well organized with a can-do approach to tasks.
- Ability to proactively and effectively prioritize routine and non-routine work assignments to ensure goals and timelines are met.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently without constant supervision.
- Strong written and oral communication skills when dealing with clients as well as within the office.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Able to work in an open office environment amidst conversations, phone calls and general displays of camaraderie.
- Must love dogs and numbers.
