Sunday comics come in several formats, each of them split into 2 files. The black & white line art is in one, and the color plate is in another. For editors who need the comic in one single file, we've compiled the following guide to help the process along.
- Download and open both versions of the comic you need (i.e, the Third Standard and Third Standard Blackout files.) See here for file naming information.
- Change the image size of the Blackout file to 300 DPI (Image > Image Size, Document Size: Resolution)
- Change the Blackout version to Grayscale (Image > Mode, Grayscale) The Size Ratio should be 1.
- Select the Magic Wand tool, make sure Anti-alias is selected and Contiguous is not in the wand options.
- Click on any black portion of the image. This should select all of the black in the image.
- Copy the selected portion and paste it into the color version. If the sizing is correct, it should lay correctly over the white spaces for lines.
- Save the resulting image as a TIF or JPG, and drop it into your page template.
