Jack Newcombe

Jack Newcombe has served as the president and chief operating officer of Creators since 2011. Newcombe transitioned the company away from printed newspapers and into a digital publishing and syndication company.

Newcombe originally joined Creators as general manager and executive vice president in 2009 and was promoted after two years. As GM, Newcombe spearheaded a successful initiative to take on the delivery of Creators content, decreasing previously fixed delivery costs considerably and repositioning the company in the digital era.

As COO, Newcombe founded Creators Publishing, a consumer-facing digital publishing platform that enables the company to sell directly to consumers. As part of the initiative, Newcombe rebranded the company with a new mission, modern logo and redesigned website marrying the company’s new business, publishing, with the traditional business, syndication.

Throughout his time at Creators, Newcombe has pitched and signed new talent (e.g., Daphne Oz and Jenny McCarthy), negotiated most contracts with agents (e.g., CAA and WME) and partners (e.g., Disney and Nickelodeon), and handled all licensing agreements (e.g., representing Trinity Mirror in an Andy Capp’s Hot Fries deal).

Additionally, Newcombe co-founded Newcombe Real Estate LLC. NRE led the relocation of Creators’ corporate headquarters. Newcombe was heavily involved in the land acquisition as an investor and oversaw the design of the new, creative office space, the 10,000-square-foot build and the move for Creators.

While working at Creators, Newcombe co-founded the software company New & Co. (formerly Cliqness Inc.) in 2013. Newcombe and his technical co-founder built a proprietary content management system for Creators. The CMS touches every aspect of Creators’ business, including content delivery and formatting, book publishing and formatting, and running the company’s flagship website.

Newcombe joined Creators after earning his Master of Business Administration from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he was an Arbuckle Leadership Fellow. Before Stanford, Newcombe worked in investment management for Goldman Sachs. Newcombe earned his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University, majoring in government and Spanish, where he was a four-year varsity athlete and captain of the rowing (crew) team. Newcombe lives in Manhattan Beach with his wife, Allison, and their two dogs, Bauer and Bailey.
