Debra J. Saunders is the Washington columnist for the Las Vegas Review-Journal. She served as White House correspondent for The RJ during President Donald Trump's first term. 
Before Trump, Saunders wrote an opinion column for the San Francisco Chronicle and the Los Angeles Daily News. Between Trump's terms, she was a senior fellow at The Discovery Institute.
She graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Boston with a B.A. in Greek and Latin.
